So.
Being my first post, I don't have much planned to say, except that I am extremely honored to be a part of the Habitech 10 team as a 4th year student. Seeing the work and results of past homes in the Ruston area, both Habitat 4 Humanity and Tech's 5th year program, it is exciting to be associated with those previously erected and of course the opportunities to advocate the design of future homes after us.
Since we came back from Thanksgiving break, I have enjoyed reading all the other fifth years' blogs and learning about what all they researched and designed to get to their "big idea" of a flexible, modular home, and how the interests of Mrs. Lisa Archie could be addressed.
Speaking of Mrs. Archie, I have yet to meet her! After studio class yesterday, I left with a lot of questions regarding what she would want in a home. For being someone who has sought after and applied for a Habitat home for several years over and over again, I could already see that she would be one to KNOW exactly what she wants. Where does she spend most of her time when she's home? Does she like being able to have a greater living space so she can have more people over?
For Monday, we have to be down to three schematic designs or strategies, rather. oh, this is the fun part!
I guess, I had more to say than I thought (as always). By the way, I just started reading the BLDGBLOG book by Geoff Manaugh and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't heard about it. Look it up, his blog became famous on this good ol' blogger website!
